6 Things That Might Help You Perform Better
Elden Ring might be one of FromSoftware's more approachable games but that doesn't mean it's any easier to play. We've compiled a list of tips and tricks to help you as seamlessly as possible.
-
Use map markers to keep track of noteworthy discoveries and events
Elden Ring's map expands as you explore. So filling out Elden Ring's map is a fantastic way to start investigating a new location, but it's worth noting that you may place up to a hundred unique marks on places, in addition to the normal waypoints. These are really useful, as there is a lot that the map does not reveal once located, such as merchants or optional bosses. However, if you die and truly want those runes back, it will be useful to have them nearby to assist you in returning to your body. You'll thank yourself later if you use these to keep track of everything.

Shields are helpful, but rolling is better (eyes on Equip Load)
As useful as shields are, rolling out of the line of an assault is always preferable; with more "invincibility frames," you'll be able to dodge rolls quicker and further than with a heavy load. Avoid carrying a large weight since you'll acquire the dreaded "fat roll," which slows you down and uses more endurance with each roll.
Because rolling is so vital for avoiding opponent damage —especially in boss battles — a sluggish roll might cost you the game, making it a very important consideration. Particularly later in the game, when monsters use deadly spells and divine blows to break past your defenses.
-
Play around with some more Ashes of War
Ashes of War are unique attacks performed by weapons and shields, such as holy missiles, magic deflection, and attack strength enhancements. They also have an impact on how effectively some attributes scale with your weapon.
Because various types of damage are weak against specific opponents and bosses, it's a good idea to experiment with the Ashes of War you have mounted on each weapon. There's absolutely no downside: you may switch between different Ashes of War at any time, and they'll never be consumed by or tied to a weapon.
Weapon skills aren't designed to replace conventional fighting, although they might give you an advantage against a particularly difficult monster.
-
Use Spirit Ashes to defeat bosses
In the wide world of the Lands, there are bosses and groups of foes. Splitting their focus with AI pals is frequently much easier. You may even upgrade them to cause more damage if you do enough exploration.
If you go to the Church of Elleh late at night, you'll find a lady with a huge hat who will offer you a Spirit Bell, allowing you to call NPCs to battle alongside you. Depending on which you've unlocked, these spirits can assume a number of shapes, from a pack of wolves to a lone magician.
Unfortunately, Spirit Ashes can't be used at any time you wish. A grave icon will display in the bottom-left corner of your screen if you're close to a Rebirth Monument.
The Spirit Ashes are unlikely to be able to knock down a boss by themselves, but they can help you gain some free strikes by distracting the adversary.
-
Don't be frightened to run past your adversaries
The Elden Ring allows you to quickly get to a checkpoint from almost anywhere. Because of the game's non-linear format, you'll encounter bosses who are far too difficult for you right now. So, if you're having problems with a particular section or enemy, you may always use Torrent to explore a different location. It can sometimes be tough to determine whether an area is beyond your present ability or merely requires a new approach.
Of course, you can’t run past every enemy, as it’s mandatory to defeat certain bosses, but if you're having trouble defeating someone, it's worth revisiting and exploring the map to level up.

You do not have to kill everything
Because you can move in any direction in the Elden Ring, hide through bushes, and escape most dangers on your horse, there are many foes and roving bosses you can flee from or simply give them space.
Learn to pick and select your battles, flee and fight when necessary. When you're ready, they'll still be waiting, and you can try again for the treasure and Runes they're carrying.
